Information, not advice
Everything on this website, including pages, articles and answers to common questions, is general information about dispute resolution and the law in England & Wales. It is not legal advice, it is not tailored to your circumstances, and you should not act or refrain from acting on the basis of it. The law changes; a page that was accurate when written may not be accurate today.
No engagement by reading
Reading this site, or sending an enquiry through it, does not create any engagement or duty between you and Newby Dispute Resolution. An appointment arises only from the agreement to mediate, or other written terms, signed by the parties.
The mediator is neutral
In mediations and joint settlement meetings Roger Newby acts as an independent neutral. He does not advise any party and does not decide the dispute. Each party should take its own advice from its own representatives.
Time limits
Legal claims are subject to strict time limits, which vary by type of claim and can be short. Taking part in a mediation does not stop time running unless the parties agree otherwise in writing. Nothing on this site tells you the limit that applies to your situation. Seek advice promptly.
Jurisdiction
This website is directed at England & Wales and describes the law and practice of England & Wales only.
